SPRINGFIELD — Longtime Springfield volunteer Nancy Stark and Urban Lumber Co. were among the honorees on Friday at the Springfield Chamber of Commerce annual awards banquet.

The chamber presented the awards Friday evening at Lane Community College’s Center for Meeting and Learning. About 250 business and civic leaders attended the chamber’s 67th annual awards and installation banquet.

Stark, a retired Weyerhaeuser Co. employee, received the First Citizen award because she has spent “countless hours volunteering” at Thurston and Springfield high schools, the chamber said. Stark, a longtime volunteer with the chamber, also devotes time to the Springfield Education Foundation, the chamber said.

Urban Lumber Co. was named Business of the Year because of its growth and impact in the community through leadership and giving, the chamber said. The firm makes handcrafted tables, chairs and natural-edge wooden slabs for commercial and residential customers. Owners Seth and Christina San Filippo opened the business in the historic Booth Kelly Mill near downtown Springfield, making an investment in the city center, the chamber said.
